Eslövs Golfklubb is situated in the Brååns dalgång valley in Skåne, Sweden, on historical grounds associated with the Ellinge manor house. The club's primary championship course, Ellinge, is an 18-hole park and heathland layout with a par of 70. The course was originally designed by Anders Amilon, who laid out the initial nine holes that opened in 1969. The layout was subsequently expanded to 18 holes in 1974 by the renowned architect Ture Bruce, who is also known for designing Barsebäck and Mölle. Bruce’s design creates a gently rolling terrain that winds along the Brååån river, featuring a mix of open areas and more enclosed holes. The course is characterized by a strategic design that prioritizes placement over length. The layout includes water hazards and bunkers that are strategically positioned to test the golfer, with red penalty areas defined on holes 12, 13, 16, 17, and 18. Out of bounds is marked by white posts on several holes, including the first, fifth, sixth, eighth, and the final hole. The open nature of the Skåne landscape means that wind is a significant factor, requiring players to adjust their club selection and strategy from the first tee. The club also offers a 9-hole Pay and Play course named Kristinebergsbanan, which has a par of 56 for 18 holes and is designed to be accessible for players of all levels. The setting provides views of the Ellinge manor house, which dates back to the 1100s, visible from the eleventh and twelfth holes. The grounds have a rich history, having been owned by notable figures such as the Sparre family and General Wilhelm Bennet. In 2006, the club collaborated with Peter Chamberlain and Karl-Oscar Seth to develop a renovation plan to renew the course layout. The facility includes a clubhouse with a restaurant, changing rooms, and extensive practice areas, including a driving range that is open around the clock. The club actively hosts tournaments and maintains a strong focus on junior development and community engagement.
