Hokkaido Links Country Club

北海道, Japan

Hokkaido Links Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course located in Biei, Hokkaido, situated approximately 40 minutes from Sapporo. Designed by Takeshi Doi, the course is built on a gentle, rolling terrain spanning 726,500 square meters. The layout is designed to evoke the strategic feel of coastal links, utilizing the natural undulations of the land to create a challenging environment for golfers of all skill levels. The course features bent grass greens and offers a total distance of 6,819 yards from the back tees. The course is characterized by its strategic demands, with hazards such as ponds, white sand bunkers, and out-of-bounds areas strategically placed to test accuracy. Several holes require precise shot placement, including the par-3 second hole, which plays over a pond, and the par-5 11th hole, a difficult S-shaped long hole that features an extreme uphill approach. The 15th hole is noted as a recommended hole for driving distance, while the 16th is highlighted for near-pin accuracy. The front nine includes a mix of dogleg rights and straight fairways, while the back nine presents significant elevation changes and water hazards on the 16th and 18th holes. Hokkaido Links Country Club offers a variety of tee options, including back, regular, front, and ladies' tees, with course ratings ranging from 66.0 to 72.8. The facility is equipped with modern amenities, including the latest cart navigation systems that provide real-time information on the position of preceding groups and cup locations. Automated payment machines are also available to facilitate smooth cashless transactions. The club aims to provide a relaxed and comfortable environment where golfers can enjoy the natural beauty of the Hokkaido landscape.
