Mid Sussex Golf Club

East Sussex, England

Mid Sussex Golf Club, located in Ditchling, East Sussex, is an 18-hole course designed by renowned architect David Williams and former European Open winner Andrew Murray. It opened to the public in 1995 and has established itself as one of Sussex's premier layouts. The course is notable for its exceptional conditioning and distinctive landscape characteristics. It ranks among the flattest courses in Sussex, making it relatively accessible while maintaining challenge through design. A defining feature is the spectacular views of the South Downs visible from virtually every hole, providing an attractive setting throughout the round. The course has demonstrated sufficient quality to host significant regional competitions, including the Sussex Mid-Age Championship, Sussex Seniors Open, and various County Matches and Events. This tournament history reflects the course's standing within Sussex golf. The combination of well-maintained fairways, South Downs vistas, and relatively flat terrain creates a course that balances playability with scenic appeal, making it suitable for golfers of varying abilities while maintaining competitive standards for serious play.
