The Wednesday Individual Game (WIG) is a weekly individual strokeplay competition held at Airport National Golf Complex. The event is open to the public with no membership required, though participants must sign up by 4:00 PM on the day of play. The competition consists of 9 holes with tee times starting at 4:30 PM and a shotgun start at 5:00 PM. The entry fee is $26 for non-season pass holders, which includes a $2 contribution to the prize fund. Players must hold a GHIN handicap; those without one will have a handicap created by the pros based on reputation, receiving 60% of that handicap until a GHIN is established. All winnings are paid out in gift certificates. To maintain pace of play, players are asked to pick up after a net double bogey. The event runs weekly throughout the season, with specific 'Food Nights' scheduled on select dates. On certain Wednesdays (e.g., April 29, May 27, June 24, July 29, Aug 26), the format changes to a 4-person Best Shot team game with food. On other dates (e.g., June 24), it may be an 18-hole Best Shot. Season pass holders pay $8 for the individual game, with $5 going to the game and $5 to a random draw 2-person team game.
