The Friday Open Competition is a regular weekly open competition held at Okayama Kinryo Country Club on Fridays. The event consists of the front 9 holes played in a World Par (WP) stableford format. Individual entries are accepted. The entry fee is 8,400 yen (including self-play 4-ball rate, consumption tax, and 500 yen golf course usage tax). Top scorers are published in the San-yo Shimbun newspaper and Economic Report; players wishing to remain anonymous should request this upon entry. The course is accessible to visitors and non-members, with online booking available via the club's website. Standard dress code applies: collared shirts required, no T-shirts or tank tops; blazers required for clubhouse entry from October to May.

The layout includes four par-5 holes, ten par-4 holes, and four par-3 holes distributed across the outward and inward nines. The course incorporates varied terrain with elevation changes, including several uphill and downhill holes that require distance adjustments. Notable design features include multiple doglegs, strategic bunkering, water hazards (notably a pond on the closing hole), and two-tiered greens on select holes such as No. 7 and No. 17. The course presents moderate to challenging difficulty, with tee assignments based on player age and gender. The back nine includes several signature holes, particularly the closing par-5 18th hole with its pond guarding the right side and bunkers protecting the left. Fairway positioning and accurate distance control are emphasized throughout the course design, requiring players to manage strategic hazard placement and undulating green complexes.
