The William McLean Open is a men's individual strokeplay competition held at Braehead Golf Club, Alloa Road, Cambus, Clackmannanshire, FK10 2NT. Open to golfers with a World Handicap Index of 11.9 or above (higher handicappers only). Booking is made online via the club's BRS booking system, where payment is taken at the time of booking. No refunds are given for player cancellation or non-attendance. If the course is closed due to bad weather, a refund will be issued. Smart casual dress code applies; denim jeans, collarless shirts, sports shorts, shell suits and tracksuit bottoms are not permitted. Each player must have their own set of clubs.
