XIII Charity Tournament Virgin of the Cross

The XIII Charity Tournament Virgin of the Cross is a pairs betterball stableford competition held at Golf Torrequebrada on Saturday 25 July 2026. The tournament aims to raise funds for the preparations of the feast day and procession of the Virgin of the Cross, patron saint of Benalmádena, celebrated on 15 August. Open to amateur golfers of both sexes with a valid federation license, including players with a handicap up to 36 (with slope limits of 24 for men and 30 for women). Foreign players must submit a valid handicap certificate from their country of residence alongside their entry. The format is pairs betterball stableford over 18 holes, with each player's playing handicap calculated at 85% of their individual handicap. The entry fee is €90 per person, which includes the green fee, shared buggy, and lunch with the prize-giving ceremony. There are 84 available places with a maximum of 80 players. Entries are made online with payment at the time of registration, closing on 21 July 2026 or when the quota is filled. A simultaneous tee-off is scheduled at 9:30 AM, with starting orders based strictly on handicap and published by 2:00 PM on 24 July. After the round, a lunch, prize draw, and prize-giving ceremony will take place from 3:30 PM at the Jardines del Muro in Benmaládena Pueblo. The event is organized by the Hermandad Sacramental de Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno, del Santo Sepulcro y Resucitado, María Santísima de los Dolores, Lágrimas y de la Cruz de Benmaládena. Prizes are awarded to the top six pairs, as well as to the closest-to-the-pin contest on all par-3 holes and the longest drive on hole 14. Non-members of the Spanish Golfing Union are welcome to participate.
