The König Pilsener Trophy 2026 is an open two-player team scramble competition held at Golfplatz Uttlau (St. Wolfgang) on Sunday, 16 August 2026, with a cannon start at 10:00 AM. The event is open to all amateur golfers with a Course Value (CV) between 37 and 54; players with CV 37-54 are eligible to enter but will be rated at a handicap of 36. Teams must register as pairs, though individual entries will be paired where possible. The team handicap is calculated by multiplying the better DGV handicap by 0.8 and the worse by 0.2, then adding and rounding the results. The competition is played as a scramble (all team members hit, the best ball is selected for the next shot) and scored as stableford. There is a maximum of 120 participants. Entry fees vary: members pay €40, hotel guests (Maximilian, Fürstenhof, Das Ludwig) pay €125, guests of the Gutshöfe (Brunnwies, Penning, Uttlau) pay €125, general guests including greenfee pay €146, and youth (under 18, students/scholars under 27) pay €35 plus greenfee (with a 50% greenfee discount for youth). The entry deadline is Friday, 14 August 2026, at 18:00. Prizes are awarded to the top three teams for both gross and net scores, as well as special prizes for nearest to the pin (holes 9 for men and women) and longest drive (hole 12 for men and women). In the event of a tie, the hole-by-hole playoff uses the handicap distribution 1/18/3/16/5/14/7/12/9, then 1/18/3/16/5/14, then 1/18/3. The prize-giving takes place immediately after the competition at Gutshof Uttlau, and all participants are invited to a communal evening meal with free beer sponsored by König Brauerei. Golf carts can be reserved until the entry deadline. The event is played under official DGV/BGV Golf Rules and the World Handicap System.

Golfplatz Uttlau

St. Wolfgang Golfplatz Uttlau is an 18-hole championship course designed by renowned German golf architect Kurt Rossknecht. Located in the picturesque Bavarian countryside near the village of Uttlau, the course is nestled within a landscape of rolling hills, fields, orchards, and ponds, with views of the traditional village and its historic 400-year-old Gutshof estate. The course features two nine-hole loops that traverse a pronounced terrain, incorporating both elevated tees and greens with valley shots alongside flatter sections in the plains. The layout presents a harmonious blend of sporting challenge and playability for golfers of all abilities. Key characteristics include angled fairways, water hazards requiring precision approach shots to generously-dimensioned, undulating greens, and strategically-positioned doglegs. Notable holes include the par-3 tenth, which climbs to the course's highest point with a 150-meter shot over a valley, and the par-5 twelfth, played downward from an elevated tee to a pond-protected green. Hole 15 is an ambitious dogleg-left over a ridge leading to a sunken green, while the closing par-5 features water guarding a small green positioned toward the village. Currently closed from November 2025 through spring 2026.
