Golf de Méribel

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France

Golf de Méribel is an 18-hole championship course with a par of 71, situated in the French Alps at elevations ranging from 1,565 to 1,850 meters. The course is renowned for its dramatic mountain setting, offering spectacular views of alpine peaks and the Tarentaise valley. Designed by multiple architects including Michael Fenn (original nine holes), Géry Watine and Thierry Sprecher (lower nine extension in 1991), and Hugues Lambert (2005 modifications), the course balances technical golfing challenges with aesthetic appeal. The layout alternates between concentration and contemplation across undulating green corridors and ridgelines. Located near Méribel Altiport in the Savoie region, the course benefits from cool summer mountain conditions. The course has undergone continuous improvements to enhance facilities and environmental sustainability. It operates seasonally, typically closing in winter due to snow conditions, with reopening dependent on weather. The course is accessible from major regional airports and rail connections.
