The 62nd Annual Southern 500 Golf Invitational is a premier amateur golf tournament held at Darlington Country Club in Darlington, South Carolina, from August 28-30, 2026. The event celebrates the club's centennial and supports Friends of Southern 500 Junior Golf, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides instructional, educational, and financial opportunities for youth in the area. The tournament features separate Men's and Women's divisions. The Men's Division consists of 54-hole strokeplay (August 28-30) and is SCGA Player of the Year eligible. The Women's Division is an 18-hole strokeplay event on August 28. Participants must be 18 years or older. Tee assignments are pre-flighted according to handicaps and/or previous Southern 500 scores. Golf merchandise credits are awarded as prizes for up to 20% of each flight. The event includes a practice round on Thursday, August 27, with first round starts at 8:00 AM on Friday. Lunch is provided each day, and cocktails, food, and entertainment are available each evening at 7:00 PM. The awards presentation is held on Sunday at 5:00 PM. Entry fees are $350 for men and $150 for women if paid by June 1; $375/$175 if paid June 2-July 31; and $400/$200 if paid after August 1. The entry deadline is August 23. Ties are broken by matching scorecards, with the overall champion determined by sudden death playoff starting on hole 10. Entry forms are available for download from the club website.

This renovation aims to restore the course to its 1926 origins by capitalizing on the property's natural sandy soils and transitioning away from wall-to-wall turf to embrace the course's historical character and natural features. The club hosts the Southern 500 Golf Invitational, a prestigious 54-hole amateur championship now in its 61st year. The course welcomes both members and non-members and is complemented by dining at The Black Creek Grill and Bar, plus additional amenities including a renovated swimming pool, tennis courts, and pickleball facilities.
