Golfer & Friend

The 13th annual charity golf tournament 'Golfer & Friend' benefiting the Förderverein für Unabhängige Psychosoziale Krebsberatung (Association for Independent Psychosocial Cancer Counseling), held in partnership with the Universitäts-Golfclub Paderborn e.V. The event takes place on Friday, 18 September 2026, on the Haxterhöhe Links course (holes 1-9). Registration opens at 15:30 on the club terrace, with starting materials distributed at 16:00 and a cannon start at 16:30. The tournament is played as a 9-hole event and is not handicap-valid. Participants compete in 2-person teams in the 'Golfer & Friend' format: one team member must be an experienced golfer with a valid handicap, while the other (the 'Friend') requires no prior golf experience. The experienced golfer plays the ball to the green, and the friend putts. A maximum handicap of 54 is allowed. There is no entry fee; instead, participants are asked to make a generous donation to support cancer counseling services. A tax-deductible donation receipt is available. Individual players can register via the pccaddie app, while 2-person teams should use the registration form. Registration deadline is 11 September 2026. Following the tournament, there is an awards ceremony followed by a shared dinner and social gathering at a local venue. Teams can register together with a chosen 'Golfer' and 'Friend', or as individuals, in which case the organizers will pair participants.
