Spring Lake Golf Club is a 27-hole public facility located in the heart of Long Island, NY in Middle Island, just off the Long Island Expressway's exit 64 North. The sprawling 180-acre facility is adjacent to a stunning lake providing eye-catching views. The club features two courses: the 18-hole Thunderbird and the nine-hole Sandpiper Course. At 7,035 yards from the back tees, the Thunderbird offers challenges for various skill levels, while the Sandpiper course features 3,250 yards of golf for a par of 36. The Sandpiper course was designed by Charles Martin and opened in 1967. The Thunderbird Course is characterized by its massive greens, most of which are lined with bunkers. Spring Lake is a relatively straightforward design with a variety of subtle doglegs and narrow fairways flanked by trees on each side. The nine-hole Sandpiper layout features the facility's signature hole, a split-fairway, water-filled par-5. The course combines forgiving and challenging sections, offering variety for different playing styles and skill levels.
