Championship Course

Kärnten, Austria

The Championship Course at Golfclub Klagenfurt-Seltenheim is an 18-hole, par-72 layout designed by Perry O'Dye and established in 1996. Located in Klagenfurt-Wölfnitz, Austria at 462 meters elevation, the course combines characteristics of Scottish links golf with sporting greens and landscaped rough. Water features prominently throughout all 18 holes, though landing zones remain generously wide to accommodate players of varying skill levels. The course's signature hole is the par-3 eighth, an island green measuring 131 meters from the championship tee. This dramatic hole has proven challenging even for professionals—club pro Martin Wiegele holds two hole-in-ones here and the course record of 62 strokes. The Championship Course offers multiple tee positions ranging from 4,476 meters (orange) to 6,319 meters (white), with ratings accommodating different handicap levels. The course operates seasonally from March through November and regularly hosts tournaments that form the sporting and social centerpiece of the facility.
