The Piltdown Junior Open is an 18-hole medal (strokeplay) competition for junior golfers held on Friday 28th August 2026 at Piltdown Golf Club. Players compete from the White tees (Men) and Red tees (Ladies), with separate boys' and girls' competitions and gross and nett prizes. Handicap allowance is 95% of WHS handicap. Maximum WHS handicap index allowed is 18.0 for boys and 24.0 for girls. Players must be under 18 years old at midnight on 1 January 2026. The event serves as a Daily Telegraph Junior Golf Qualifier and a Girls' County Order of Merit Qualifier. Entry is £30 payable online, which includes lunch, with a £20 practice round option available. All entrants must complete and return a Player Profile Form (including parental consent) to office@piltdowngolfclub.co.uk. Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis via online signup, with a maximum of 54 entries (currently 32 entered). Signup closes at midnight on the day of the event.

Piltdown Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course carved from ancient Sussex heathland in 1904. Located near Uckfield in East Sussex, the course features challenging heather-lined fairways set across undulating terrain characteristic of the South Downs landscape. The course offers multiple tee options, including a blue tee course designed for beginners and older members, alongside the championship layout for experienced golfers. The club's period clubhouse is a Grade II listed building dating from the late 18th century, retaining its historic character while providing modern amenities including two dining rooms. The course is complemented by excellent practice facilities featuring an undercover driving range, indoor swing room with club fitting technology, a golf simulator, and separate putting and chipping greens. The club has maintained a devoted following among golfers of all ages and abilities since its establishment.
