The Piltdown Mixed Open is a greensomes competition for mixed pairs (one male and one female amateur) held at Piltdown Golf Club on Wednesday 29th July 2026. Pairs must consist of one male and one female amateur as defined by the current rules of amateur status, and both must be members of recognised golf clubs. Maximum handicap index of 24.0 for men and 30.0 for ladies at the time of entry. Men play from the yellow tees and ladies from the red tees on the Piltdown 18 course. Stroke allowance is 0.6 or lower for men and 0.4 or higher for ladies. Entries are limited to 38 teams (76 players) on a first-come, first-served basis. The entrance fee is £110 per team (visitors), which includes all catering and prizes. In the event of a tie, the result is determined by countback. Competitors may not take more than one prize. The entrance fee will only be refunded at the discretion of the Committee. All matters relating to the competition shall be settled by the Committee, whose decision will be final. Piltdown Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course carved from ancient Sussex heathland in 1904.
