Teignmouth Golf Course

Devon, England

Teignmouth Golf Club is an 18-hole moorland links course designed by the legendary Dr Alister MacKenzie, opening in 1924-nine years before he completed Augusta National. Located near the South Devon coast at 800 feet above sea level, the course commands spectacular views of the sea and nearby moors, providing a distinctive scenic setting. The course presents a notable test of golf for players of all abilities, featuring six varied and challenging par 3s and notably eleven two-tier greens, a signature characteristic of MacKenzie's design philosophy. The moorland terrain and elevation create varied playing conditions across the layout. The course has established itself as a significant competition venue, hosting events including the English Boys County Finals and various open competitions. Its heritage and design pedigree make it a respected fixture in Devon golf, combining challenging architecture with outstanding natural landscape features characteristic of the region's moorland environment.
