Worplesdon Golf Club

Surrey, England

Worplesdon Golf Club is one of the classic Surrey heathland courses, laid out in 1908 by J F Abercromby, with greens and bunkers constructed by Willie Park Junior. Located in Woking, Surrey, the course features a traditional heathland setting characteristic of the region. The layout presents a challenging design that demands careful shot placement and strategic thinking. The short holes are particularly notable and well-regarded, while the greens are considered amongst the finest in Surrey, maintaining excellent condition. The course is recognized as one of the finest heathland courses in the UK. Worplesdon attracts a high level of repeat visits from casual visitors who appreciate the tranquil, well-maintained heathland environment. The club hosts several notable tournaments, including the John Cross Challenge Bowl and the Open Scratch Mixed Foursomes, both recognized qualifying events within the Surrey County Golf Union and Surrey Order of Merit. The course maintains strict policies regarding buggy use, encouraging players to carry their bags.
