Ilkley Golf Club, founded in 1890, is the third oldest golf club in Yorkshire. The course has been designed by some of golf's finest architects, including Harry Colt, Alister Mackenzie, and James Braid. The club has strong historical connections to professional golf, having nurtured Colin Montgomerie during his junior years under the guidance of club professional Bill Ferguson. Among its membership are two former Ryder Cup Captains and a former Walker Cup Captain.
