The Raywell Amateur Classic is a 36-hole scratch strokeplay event held at Hessle Golf Club on Thursday 22nd April 2027. It is a qualifying event for the Yorkshire Order of Merit. The competition is open to members of affiliated Golf Clubs with a WHS handicap index of 5.0 or less. Entry is restricted to 74 players, with a ballot of higher handicaps should entry exceed this limit. Entry fee is £55, which includes soup and sandwiches. Entries must be made via the Hessle Golf Club website online booking system no later than Sunday 11th April 2027. The draw will be published by 16th April 2027, with players informed by email. Starting takes place from the 1st and 10th tees, with competitors required to be on the appropriate tee 5 minutes before their allotted time. The player returning the lowest gross score over 36 holes will be the winner, with a sudden death play-off deciding the winner in the event of a tie for 1st place; all other ties will be decided by a card play-off. Prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, as well as Best Net and Best Gross for AM and PM divisions. No player may receive more than one prize. Practice rounds are available by prior arrangement with the Professional at a concessionary rate of £40 per round on weekdays.
