Duff House Royal Golf Club

Aberdeenshire, Scotland

Duff House Royal Golf Club is a championship parkland course designed by the legendary Dr Alister MacKenzie, located in Banff, Scotland. Currently ranked #32 in Golf World's Top 100 parklands in Great Britain and Ireland, the course is renowned for its challenging two-tier greens—a design feature that preceded Augusta National's famous greens. The course presents a demanding scratch par of 68 set within beautifully manicured parkland with glimpses of the Moray Firth. The River Deveron, a noted angling river, borders five holes and frames the closing holes as it flows toward the sea via the seven-span Banff Bridge. Notable features include the historic Duff House itself, an 18th-century classical country house managed by Historic Scotland, which sits within the tree-lined course boundaries. Duff House Royal holds the distinction of being the only Royal golf club where the Royal title is used as a suffix rather than prefix, reportedly as a tribute to Princess Royal Louise. The course offers comprehensive facilities including buggy hire, visitor amenities, dining, and instruction from a resident former tour professional, combining challenging golf with strong hospitality standards.
