Mendip Spring Golf Club is a 27-hole facility located at Honeyhall Lane, Congresbury, North Somerset, set in the Wrington Vale with views towards the Mendip Hills in one direction and the Brecon Beacons in the other. Both courses were designed by Terry Murray, with the nine-hole Lakeside Course opening in 1991 and the championship Brinsea Course following in 1992. The Brinsea Championship Course plays to par 71 over 6,412 yards from the back tees, with a course rating of 71.7 and slope of 135. Built on prime pastureland, the layout comprises five par threes, nine par fours, and four par fives, routed as two returning nines. Water is a defining characteristic, featuring on more than half the holes in the form of lakes, ponds, and ditches, and all par threes involve carries over water. USGA-specification sand-based greens provide consistent putting surfaces year-round. Standout holes include the par-5 7th, where streams border both fairway and green, and the 11th hole — known as "Kinheil" — which has out-of-bounds right and water flanking both sides of the fairway to a small, tightly protected green. The course has hosted the West Region PGA Championships and Somerset County Championships. The Lakeside Course is a nine-hole par-33 layout of 2,329 yards incorporating lakes and an orchard, suited to beginners and those looking for a shorter round. The clubhouse is centred on a 16th-century farmhouse, and the facility includes dormy-style accommodation, a driving range, and short-game practice areas.
