American Legion Country Club is an 18-hole golf course in Mount Union, Pennsylvania, featuring 6,527 yards with a par of 74. The course was designed by renowned course architect Tom Bendelow from Chicago and opened in 1927. The course is situated in central Pennsylvania's rolling hills landscape, providing scenic views throughout the round. The course has a course rating of 70.9 and a slope rating of 118, indicating moderate difficulty. A distinctive feature is that the club is home to Pennsylvania's oldest Par 6, making it a notable characteristic within the state's golf landscape. The 18-hole layout is set amidst picturesque rolling hills with lush greenery, featuring strategically placed bunkers, water hazards, and wooded areas that add difficulty and beauty to each hole. The American Legion purchased the club for $12,000 and rebuilt the clubhouse in 1947, adding many amenities. The course has maintained its significance as a community golf destination in central Pennsylvania, hosting rounds from golfers of varying skill levels.
