Barnard Castle Golf Club is a parkland course located one mile north of Barnard Castle town in County Durham, England, towards Middleton in Teesdale. The relatively flat layout is a par 73 course set within natural surroundings characterized by four streams that wind throughout the course and come into play on numerous holes.
The course presents a fair yet sometimes difficult test of golfing skills, well-maintained and offering lovely views across the landscape. Its setting near tourist attractions such as High Force and Raby Castle enhances its appeal as a destination course.
The club has produced several talented golfers over the years, notably Robert Dinwiddie, a former junior member who represented Great Britain and Ireland in the 2005 Walker Cup.
