Description

18-hole individual singles Stableford competition played at 95% handicap, qualifying for WHS purposes. Open to men aged 55 and over (seniors). Separate prize categories for visitors and members. Prizes include 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in two divisions (based on numbers entered) and a 70 years and over category. There is also a £250 hole-in-one prize and nearest the pin prizes. A 2s competition and ball draw are available to enter on the day. Entry fee for visitors is £30 (no meal) or £45 (including a one-course carvery meal after golf). All entrants receive a complimentary coffee and bacon bap on arrival. Buggies are available at £13 per person for a shared buggy or £26 for single occupancy and must be pre-booked and pre-paid at the time of entry. All entrants must hold a competitive WHS handicap index. Maximum handicap index: 28. Closing date for entries: 14 August 2026. No refunds after this date unless the course is closed. Ogbourne Downs Golf Club is a downland course located in Wiltshire on the Marlborough Downs, situated between Swindon and Marlborough, just 3 miles from junction 15 of the M4 motorway. The course was designed by J.H. Taylor, a five-time Open Championship winner, and is over 100 years old. Set across 200 acres of chalk downland terrain, the course benefits from excellent drainage characteristics that allow year-round playability. The layout features firm, fast fairways and fast greens that provide a challenging test, particularly in summer when conditions become firm and bouncy, and during windy conditions. The course offers outstanding views across the Marlborough Downs landscape.
