Biratori Country Club is an 18-hole golf course located in Biratori, Hokkaido, Japan, situated in a picturesque valley with views of the Hidaka Mountains and distant Pacific Ocean. The course takes advantage of the natural birch forest landscape and rolling terrain characteristic of the region. The layout is divided into two nine-hole courses with distinct characteristics. The outward nine, nicknamed the "Benkeï" course, features significant elevation changes and varied topography that creates a dynamic, undulating layout. The inward nine, called the "Yoshitsune" course, is relatively flat but incorporates subtle elevation changes and contouring to maintain interest. The course offers dramatic natural scenery, with the Shaoro River—a renowned fly-fishing destination—visible below the course. The setting provides a distinctly Hokkaido golfing experience, emphasizing interaction with the natural landscape. The course operates seasonally from mid-March through mid-December, capitalizing on the region's climate and natural conditions. The combination of terrain variation, mountain vistas, and river setting creates a challenging yet visually striking golf experience in a remote natural setting.
