The Ferguson Cup is an individual strokeplay (Medal) competition held at Strathaven Golf Club on Tuesday 4th August 2026, running from 09:00 to 13:00. The event is open to both men and ladies. Men play from the White tees and ladies from the Red tees. The competition is played as a Medal (strokeplay) with a 95% handicap allowance. Upon entry, all players are included in a draw; tee times are allocated based on handicaps once the entry period closes, with lower handicaps starting first. Allocated tee times are communicated via email and the LGA system. The entry fee is £10.00 per person. Online signup is available, with entries closing at 6:00 pm on 31st July 2026. Current entries stand at 18.

Strathaven Golf Club is located in South Lanarkshire, approximately 20 miles from Glasgow City Centre, and boasts a 115-year history. The course features a gently undulating, tree-lined layout with USGA standard greens, designed to be enjoyable and challenging for golfers of all abilities. The design has been developed and refined over the past century, reflecting the club's commitment to course excellence. In 2023, the greenstaff received recognition at the BIGGA award ceremony for a major project involving the redesign of the 7th and 9th holes. The club has hosted numerous professional and international amateur events throughout its history, including the 2021 Scottish Girls' Amateur Championship. The course welcomes both members and visiting golfers, offering playing and social membership options for players of varying skill levels.
