King James VI Golf Club is located on Moncreiffe Island in Perth, Scotland, one of only two inland island golf courses in the world. Situated on the banks of the River Tay, the club was founded in 1858 and relocated to its current idyllic setting in 1897. The 18-hole course was designed by renowned St Andrews professional 'Old' Tom Morris, a four-time Open Championship winner. Morris's design incorporates natural features including walls, burns, and heather, characteristic of his approach to course architecture. The course operates on a seasonal basis with winter and summer configurations. The club holds historical significance in golf, having hosted the first inter-club match in 1860 against Elie and Earlsferry Golf Club, and later playing Ireland's first inter-club match in 1884 against Royal Belfast. The original wooden clubhouse was destroyed by fire in 1955 but was subsequently rebuilt.
