The course is widely recognized as one of Scotland's best 9-hole courses, featuring excellent greens protected by strategically placed trees and bunkers. The layout demands careful shot placement due to these hazards positioned throughout. Milnathort has established a strong reputation as a quality venue, hosting numerous national events and participating in R&A 9-hole challenge competitions. The club occupies a scenic setting within extensive parkland with ample facilities. Originally built on leased land from the Lumbenny estate, the course is also referenced on maps as Burleigh Golf Course due to its proximity to the historic castle.
