Rounds: 1
Prospect Hospice is a charitable organization established in 1980 that provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care services to a community of more than 300,000 people across Swindon, Marlborough, and north Wiltshire in England. Operating from purpose-built premises since 1995, the hospice delivers outstanding, personalized, and compassionate care for patients and their families affected by life-limiting illnesses, completely free of charge. The organization functions as a dedicated non-hospital care service available around the clock, every day of the year, for over 45 years supporting both patients and their loved ones during difficult times.
The hospice relies heavily on community support to sustain its services, raising approximately £2 million annually through its network of charity shops, fundraising activities, and volunteer efforts. Prospect Hospice operates retail shops both in-person and online where supporters can purchase goods or donate pre-loved items. Additional community facilities include the Heart of the Hospice café, which provides a welcoming space for visitors and the local community. Beyond direct patient care, Prospect Hospice serves as the leading provider of education and training for end-of-life care in the Swindon and north Wiltshire region, offering professional development opportunities across the healthcare sector while maintaining its commitment to delivering exceptional palliative care services to those in need.
