The Golfweek Amateur Tour conducts strokeplay tournaments to provide amateur golfers of all skill levels with a competitive environment. The Amateur Golf Tour (AGT) was founded by Dennis McCormac in 1995. In 2010, the AGT entered into a title sponsorship agreement with Golfweek, resulting in the current name, Golfweek Amateur Tour. It is identified as the oldest and largest amateur tour in the United States. In 2025, the tour hosted more than 750 tournaments. There are currently 42 Local Tours operating across the country. The Senior Amateur Golf Tour (SAGT) was established to serve the senior demographic. This season marks the 28th anniversary of the Senior Tour, which comprises 26 Local Tours. From January through September, 42 Local Tours host between 10 and 15 tournaments each. Home Tour members earn points based on their finishing position within their assigned flight (Champ through D). Members may also participate in events hosted by other Local Tours and special regional tournaments to accumulate additional points. At the end of the season, flight leaders in the points standings from each Local Tour qualify for the Golfweek Amateur Tour National Championship in Hilton Head, South Carolina. In 2025, the 3-day, 54-hole National Championship featured more than 700 amateur competitors. The 2026 National Championship is scheduled for October 16–18. Playing format for all events is individual strokeplay.
