Bellingham Golf Club

Bellingham, Northumberland, England

Bellingham Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course established in 1893 in the North Tyne Valley of Northumberland, England. Originally a nine-hole layout, it expanded to 18 holes in 1996, with the original holes (1-6, 16-18) largely preserved alongside nine new holes (7-15) that integrate seamlessly with the existing design. The course plays to a par of 70 for men and 71 for ladies, measuring approximately 6,000 yards from the men's tees and 5,200 yards from the ladies' tees. Set in picturesque countryside between Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish Border, the course overlooks the village of Bellingham and features stunning views of the surrounding Northumbrian landscape. Characterized by significant elevation changes, diverse terrain, and varied hole designs, the course presents no two similar holes. Players encounter testing par threes, challenging par fives, and a notable collection of par fours, along with pretty streams, specimen trees, and ravines. The finishing holes provide memorable views of the clubhouse. While not exceptionally long by modern standards, the course's strategic design and natural features maintain considerable challenge throughout the round. The refurbished clubhouse offers views across the valley and includes a covered six-bay driving range for warm-up practice.
