The course winds through mature stands of indigenous pine, birch, and heather, offering a blend of parkland and heathland characteristics with scenic views of the River Dee and surrounding rolling hills. The course features small, precisely formed greens that demand strategy and precision play. With six excellent par-3s throughout the layout, strong iron play is essential for success. While not championship length, the course presents a genuine challenge to golfers of all abilities, combining attractive fairways with strategic hole design. The distinctive octagonal clubhouse, situated a short walk from Banchory's town centre, serves as a welcoming social hub featuring panoramic windows and a glass-fronted balcony overlooking the 16th green. Facilities include a professional shop housed in a historic mill building, practice areas, and an indoor swing studio. The club welcomes visitors and societies alongside its membership community.
