The course measures 6,212 yards with a par of 71. Established in 1904 as Knavesmire Golf Club, it relocated to its current site in 1946. The layout features tree-lined fairways built around Askham Nature Reserve, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) managed by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. The course incorporates natural wildlife habitats, with deer, squirrels, rabbits, and various bird species frequently visible during play.
