Struie Course

Highland, United Kingdom

The Struie Course is a par-71 links course playing 6,205 yards, located at Royal Dornoch in the Scottish Highlands. Ranked among Scotland's top 50 links courses, it marked its centenary in 2023 and has hosted numerous prestigious championships. The course offers distinctive views toward Dornoch town, Dornoch Point, and across the Firth to the hills beyond. Locally known as "The Low Course," the Struie presents a different challenge from its sister Championship Course. The layout features tighter fairways and smaller greens than its counterpart, with the meandering Dornoch Burn being a defining characteristic. Recent investment includes a newly designed par-3 ninth hole with an infinity green by architects Mackenzie and Ebert, offering magnificent views of the Dornoch Firth. The course comprises a mix of par-3s, par-4s, and par-5s spread across 18 holes. Notable features include several two-tiered greens requiring precise distance control, strategic bunkering, and natural hazards including gorse and water features. The back nine includes particularly scenic holes running parallel to the Dornoch Firth, framed by Struie Hill, presenting both aesthetic beauty and technical challenge to golfers of varying abilities.
