The Manchester Masters is an 18-hole Individual Medal (strokeplay) competition held on Friday 31 July 2026 as part of the club's annual Festival Week at The Manchester Golf Club (Hopwood), Rochdale Road, Middleton. Entry fee is £55 per player (visitor price), which includes a sandwich and tea or coffee. The event is open to male golfers who are members of a physical golf club with an active WHS index. Entrants must have submitted 5 WHI competition cards in the previous 12 months to be eligible for prizes; entries are accepted from golfers with fewer qualifying cards but they will not receive prizes. The maximum handicap for singles events is 16.5 for men. Entry is available online via the BRS Golf booking system with full payment required at booking. Entry fees are non-refundable unless notice of withdrawal is received by the Manager at least 7 days prior to the event. Prizes: Gross and net prize winners receive Pro Shop vouchers (based on 2025 results: 1st Gross £100, 2nd Gross £50; 1st Net £100, 2nd Net £75, 3rd Net £60, 6th Net £30). Ties are decided by card countback over the last 9, 6, 3, or 1 hole. Participants must register at the registration desk at least 30 minutes before their scheduled tee time.

Manchester Golf Club is a Harry Colt-designed championship course set across 247 acres of moorland and heathland near Manchester. Located at Hopwood in Middleton, approximately 20 minutes from Manchester City Centre, the course offers rural scenery with views over central Manchester. As an England Golf Championship venue, it hosts prestigious tournaments including the Ladies European Tour Access Series, Reid Trophy, and Women's Open Strokeplay Championship, along with the Northern Counties Championship. The course presents a challenging test of golf suitable for competitive play, with notable wildlife including deer roaming the fairways. The club features extensive practice facilities including a 300+ yard driving range with Trackman technology, a short game area, Golf Performance Centre, and Putting Lab. The membership base includes over 100 single-figure handicap golfers and more than 40 category 1 players. Manchester Golf Club operates as a private members' club while welcoming visitors and societies year-round. The recently refurbished clubhouse serves as both a golf venue and event space for conferences and functions.
