The layout includes numerous uphill and downhill sections with pronounced ridges and sideslopes. The course is notable for its panoramic views across the Rottal region, extending to the Bavarian Forest, Bad Griesbach, and the Alps on clear days. A signature challenge is the infamous "Herzschlaghügel" (heart attack hill) at hole 9, a Par 4 where the final 150 meters from fairway to green feature a 48-percent gradient, making it one of Germany's ten most difficult holes.
