Sydjysk Open 2026

Sydjysk Open is an open individual amateur tournament held across three courses in South Jutland: Kaj Lykke Golfklub (Bramming), Ribe Golf Klub, and Vejen Golfklub. In 2026 it is the 19th edition of the tournament, which typically attracts around 300 participants from more than 60 clubs across Denmark, with a maximum of 336 entrants.

Participants must be at least 20 years old as of 1 January 2026 and hold a handicap index of +8.0 to 54.0. Strokes are awarded up to a maximum of handicap 40. Players must have all scores in Golfbox approved by a marker by Wednesday 17 June 2026 (the day before Round 1). Playing with an incorrect handicap results in disqualification.

Three groups rotate across the three courses over three days. Each group plays a gun-start round at each course on successive days. Round 1 (18 June): gun start 11:00, arrival by 10:30. Rounds 2 and 3 (19–20 June): gun start 09:00, arrival by 08:30. Groups 2 and 3 were already oversubscribed as of December 2025 — Group 1 is recommended.

Format: 54 holes individual. The A-bracket plays strokeplay (with a maximum of 6 strokes on par 3s, 8 on par 4s, and 10 on par 5s). The B, C, and D-brackets play stableford. Four equal-sized brackets are determined by handicap. Tees differ by gender and bracket at each course.

Entry fee: 1,645 DKK for players not members of the three host clubs; 1,445 DKK for members of Kaj Lykke Golfklub, Ribe Golf Klub, or Vejen Golfklub. A non-refundable deposit of 300 DKK is payable at registration (refunded only if placed on the waiting list and not admitted). The balance is due by 1 April 2026. Payment is by bank transfer to reg. no. 9692, account 4000 7431. Registration opened 6 November 2025 and closes 21 May 2026. A waiting list operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

A greenfee offer is available: one practice round at each of the three courses for 450 DKK per course if booked and paid before 1 April 2026. Practice rounds on the tournament courses are not permitted during the tournament itself.

Refreshments are provided on all three courses during each round (sandwich and one water/beer). Free practice balls are available at all three courses. Breakfast can be pre-ordered for an additional charge directly with each club.

Award ceremony and gala dinner (all-inclusive) on Saturday 20 June from 17:30 to midnight at Ribe Fritidscenter, Sportsvej 8, 6760 Ribe. Programme: 17:30 welcome drink, 17:45 welcome, 18:00 three-course dinner with wine/beer/water, dancing, 23:45 late-night snack, 00:30 buses depart. Return bus service available: departing Vejen Idrætscenter at 16:15 and Bramming Bibliotek at 16:45 (cost 170 DKK return). An additional ticket for the gala dinner only (non-players or extra guests) costs 550 DKK. Groups of more than 10 wishing to reserve a table together should note this in their registration comments or contact the secretariat by 19 June 2026.

Tie-break for both the daily competition and the overall tournament: lowest handicap, then mathematical countback (last 36, 18, 9, 6, 3, 1 holes), then draw.

Prizes

Overall tournament: prizes for the top 10 scores in each of the four brackets. Daily competition: prizes for the top 3 scores in each of the four brackets; wine prizes for all birdies on par-3 holes; hole-in-one on selected par-3 holes at each club wins an electric buggy (sponsor: Pro-shop, Kaj Lykke Golfklub) and a Toyota for one month (sponsor: Louis Lund A/S).
