The Pines at North Park, located in Denham Springs, Louisiana, was originally founded as Denham Springs Country Club in the mid-1950s by Art Hannaman Jr. The course was carved from palmetto swamp, with drainage ponds created during construction that also provided dirt for shaping the layout. By the 1960s, the club had grown to 250 members with a waiting list.
The course features a classic design developed from its origins as a traditional country club. Notable in its history is the Catfish Tournament, which served as a signature event for over 37 years, establishing the course as a regional venue for competitive play. The course is characterized by its mature pine-lined fairways and pond features integrated throughout the layout.
Recently, PANDS has taken ownership and initiated modernization efforts, including course updates and facility renovations while preserving the character of the original design. The course maintains its identity as a full-service golf facility offering membership options and various playing opportunities. The site represents a significant piece of local golf history, with the original vision and legacy of its founder continuing to define the club's character today.
