Ashburnham Golf Club is a championship links course located in Burry Port, Carmarthenshire, South Wales, near Llanelli. It is regarded as one of the finest championship links courses in Britain and ranks among the top 10 golf courses in Wales, currently holding the 6th position according to Golf World. The course features a traditional links layout with notable views overlooking the Lougher Estuary towards the Gower Peninsula. The setting combines coastal terrain with tranquil surroundings characteristic of Welsh links golf. Historically significant, Ashburnham has hosted prestigious professional and amateur championships since the early 1900s. The course earned endorsement from Harry Vardon, the six-time British Open Champion, who stated it was his preferred Welsh course. More recently, it served as a qualifying venue for the Seniors Open Championship in 2014 and 2017, and is scheduled to host the 2025 Welsh Women's Open Strokeplay Championship. The club maintains high course conditions, with particular attention to greenkeeping standards. The traditional clubhouse provides facilities for dining, weddings, corporate events, and conferences.
