Hacienda Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course located in a canyon within the La Puente Hills of La Habra Heights, California. Designed by renowned California architect William Watson, the course opened in two phases: the first nine holes in 1920 and the second nine in 1923. Founded by oil magnate Alphonso Bell, the course was built on land historically part of the Sansinena family's Spanish land grant holdings. The layout has remained unchanged since its original design, though a major 1964 renovation transformed it into a true championship course through significant engineering work. The course is known for its demanding and distinctive routing through the canyon setting. Notable course records include Gene Sarazen's 70 in 1923 and Tiger Woods' 62 in 1994 during his victory in the SCGA Amateur Championship. The club has hosted the Southern California Golf Association Amateur Championship three times and numerous qualifying tournaments for major amateur and professional events.
