Sleepy Hollow Golf Course

OH, United States

Sleepy Hollow Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course located in the Brecksville Reservation, designed by Stanley Thompson, a member of the Royal Canadian Golf Hall of Fame. The course opened in 1924 as a private country club and became public in 1963. Set on a classic "out and in" layout, the course features dramatic elevation changes with front nine holes playing downhill and downwind, appearing shorter than their yardage, while back nine holes play uphill and into the wind, playing longer than marked. Notable holes include the impressive par 3 second hole, which requires a driver from the back tees, and the par 4 third hole stretching 481 yards. The back nine emphasizes strategy with short par 5 hole #14 and par 4 hole #17 serving as classic risk-reward opportunities. The course is named one of Golfweek's top five courses playable in Ohio and has hosted numerous amateur and professional tournaments, including USGA championship qualifying events and the biennial Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship. The setting offers breathtaking views of the Cuyahoga River Valley.
