The Gents Open is a Four Ball Better Ball (4BBB) Stableford open competition held on Saturday 20 June 2026 at Westerhope Golf Club, Whorlton Grange, Westerhope, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE5 1PP. The course is an 18-hole parkland layout measuring 6,392 yards from the medal tees, originally designed by Sandy Herd. Maximum handicap is 28 (men). An 85% handicap allowance applies. Entry and tee time booking is available online via the BRS booking system. Players must hold an official handicap of 28 or under to enter.

Designed by Scottish golf legend Sandy Herd, the 1902 Open Championship winner, the course measures 6,392 yards from the members' tees and features 18 holes offering a fair challenge to players of all abilities. The course is characterized by its open parkland setting with easy walking terrain, though it presents a notable test for wayward shots. Key features include the 4th hole, which is distinguished by an intimidating tree positioned in the line of play, and the 15th, a par-4 with notable views from the tee box. The course has well-maintained fairways and fast, true greens. A full-service clubhouse features a bar and restaurant with pleasant views overlooking the 18th green. The club offers professional tuition, a well-stocked pro shop, practice facilities, and welcomes both members and visitors. The course regularly hosts competitive events including senior opens and is noted for excellent course maintenance and friendly hospitality.
