The Twenty Ten Course at Celtic Manor Resort is a championship layout built specifically to host The 2010 Ryder Cup, the first course designed for this purpose. Measuring 7,493 yards from the back tees with a par of 71, it was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and Ross McMurray in two stages.
The course features distinctive variety across its layout. The opening holes present a links-like character with long rough and greenside swales, while the middle section transitions into lake-lined challenges with water hazards affecting half the holes. This creates numerous risk-and-reward dilemmas throughout the round, culminating in a demanding finishing stretch with a signature 18th hole that overlooks the purpose-built clubhouse.
Beyond hosting the 2010 Ryder Cup, the course has welcomed the European Tour's Wales Open ten times, establishing itself as a world-class venue. The Twenty Ten is GEO Certified, demonstrating commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable golf practices. Complementary amenities for visitors include personalized lockers in the Ryder Cup Locker Room, bag drop services, and access to warm-up facilities. The course continues to challenge golfers through virtual play via Toptracer technology.
