Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club

Richmond, North Yorkshire, England

Richmond (Yorks) Golf Club is an 18-hole course measuring 6,083 yards with a par of 71. The layout comprises eight original holes and ten holes added in 1972 by renowned designer Fred Pennink, who maximized the available space on the property. Located in Bend Hagg, Richmond, North Yorkshire, the course is set in an exposed location where wind can significantly influence play. The primary challenge at Richmond is accuracy rather than length. The course features notably undulating and slick greens that demand skilled putting and careful reading. With four par-5s and five par-3s, the course presents varied demands across its layout. The signature 18th hole is a short par-3 of 162 yards for men and 119 yards for ladies, where players hit over a wood to a green positioned in front of the clubhouse, offering a picturesque finishing hole. The course's difficulty is reflected in a CSS of 70, indicating it presents a substantial test despite its modest yardage. The exposed terrain and demanding green complexes combine to create a golf course that rewards precision and putting ability.
