Astbury Golf Club

Cheshire, England

Astbury Golf Club is a picturesque parkland course situated in South Cheshire countryside. The 18-hole layout features sweeping tree-lined fairways and is notably traversed by the historic Macclesfield Canal, which flows through the middle of the course. The course has been ranked 19th best in Cheshire within the UK's Top 100. The signature hole is the 12th, a strong par 5 requiring a long carry over a ravine from the tee, closely rivalled by the par 5 3rd hole and the 18th with its double dog-leg. Water hazards come into play on seven holes. The terrain is relatively easy to walk with gentle slopes that provide a good test of short game skills. The club has undertaken significant course improvements over the past 11 years, including 28 redesigned and reconstructed bunkers, new tees, paths, and enhanced drainage. Recent investments have focused on greens maintenance through deep aeration and specialized grass care, resulting in consistent green quality throughout the year. The clubhouse has been completely refurbished, and the club operates a comprehensive membership program alongside visitor facilities and an opens tournament schedule running from June to October.
