Llanishen Golf Course

Glamorgan, Wales

Llanishen Golf Club, founded in 1905 in North Cardiff, is a parkland course noted for its spectacular views across Cardiff and the Bristol Channel toward the Somerset coast. Caerphilly Mountain provides a scenic backdrop to the layout. The course is described as short with slick, subtle greens that demand precise approach play, emphasizing accuracy over distance. It has been recognized in Golf World's Top 100 courses in Wales for its manicured condition and underrated design. The course offers informal play throughout the week with knock-out competitions and mixed events during summer months. It features active Men's and Ladies' sections, including provisions for golfers over 60. The club maintains a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and accepts visitors and societies year-round, though not on Saturdays due to competition scheduling. The course's design rewards repeat visits with its combination of challenging greens and demanding approach shots, making it an attractive option for golfers seeking precision play in an aesthetically pleasing setting.
