Royal Winchester Golf Club

Royal Winchester Golf Club is a private members club established in 1888, located northwest of Winchester in Hampshire, and holds the distinction of being the only Royal Club in Hampshire. The course was designed by renowned architect J.H. Taylor and is laid out on typical Hampshire Downland terrain, which provides excellent drainage and enables year-round play with consistently good conditions. The club features a well-maintained course set within the rolling downland landscape characteristic of the Hampshire region. The design takes advantage of the natural terrain, offering an engaging layout that benefits from the exceptional drainage properties of chalk downland. This geological advantage ensures playable conditions throughout all seasons. Royal Winchester maintains a strong and active membership base with organized competitions, matches, and social events across various club sections. The facilities include a modern clubhouse with dining accommodations, hosting private functions for up to 120 guests, as well as dedicated meeting rooms. The club welcomes societies and visitors, and regularly hosts open competitions. The clubhouse offers relaxed surroundings with views across the course, providing an ideal setting for members and guests following their round.
