Founded in 1888, Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club is a traditional members' club set in the heart of the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex. The club features two entirely natural courses designed by the landscape itself, with no earth moved or water features artificially created. The Old Course showcases a stunning heathland layout with spectacular views across four counties, rated in the 2025 Golf World Top 100 Golf Courses in GB&I. The West Course winds through mature broadleaf woodland. Both courses present a genuine test of golf, with natural defences including heather, humps, hollows, pools, and streams. The club's character has remained largely unchanged over its 130-year history, preserving the original architectural philosophy.
