Whyalla Golf & Bowling Club

South Australia, Australia

Whyalla Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course located four kilometres from Whyalla City Plaza in South Australia, positioned on Alternate Highway 1 (Port Augusta Road) opposite the Whyalla Visitor Centre and Maritime Museum. The course features fully grassed fairways and greens, presenting a challenging layout for golfers of varying abilities. Set within Whyalla's semi-arid landscape near the upper Spencer Gulf, the course is notable for its environmental sustainability practices. Since 2004, it has been the largest single user of locally recycled water in a partnership with Whyalla City Council, demonstrating commitment to water conservation in an arid region. The club welcomes both members and visitors, offering social golf daily and hosting men's competitions on Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday, with women's competitions on Tuesday and Thursday. Weekend competitions are open to women members. The facility provides golf equipment hire, including clubs, carts, and electric buggies, along with refreshments and golf supplies through the Golf Shop. The course operates as a community facility run by member volunteers and supported by local sponsors and organisations.
