Golf Club Semmering is a 9-hole, Par 62 course located in Semmering, Austria, established in 1926 and recognized as Austria's oldest golf course still operating in its original form. The layout measures 3,796 meters for men (handicap rating 60.9, slope 97) and 3,330 meters for women (handicap rating 60.9, slope 100). Situated in the alpine region known as "Zauberberg" (Magic Mountain), the course features challenging tee positions, hilly terrain, and panoramic mountain views. Notable characteristics include a woodland section—hole 7 was historically used as a ski jump starting in 1927—and wildlife encounters with foxes, hares, deer, and birds of prey crossing the fairways. The course is distinguished by its unique blend of demanding play and scenic alpine landscape. The course operates seasonally from May to October and hosts various tournaments including handicap competitions held every Wednesday. A driving range, putting green, and chipping area are available for practice. The club offers lessons through resident professional Urs Kaltenberger and maintains greenfee agreements with partner clubs.
